Eating Vegan and Vegetarian is Easy at Bonnie & Wild
Over the past few years, Veganuary has become a regular fixture in our calendar, as more and more people look for menu options away from fish, meat and dairy. Which is why at Bonnie & Wild we have encouraged our kitchens to provide a range of dishes that vegans, vegetarian and even pescatarians can sink their teeth into, any time of year.
El Perro Negro, twice winner of the UK’s National Burger Awards, may not be the obvious choice for the vegan and vegetarians among you, but their Symplicity plant-based patty is highly recommended for those craving a burger, and comes served up with salad, burger cheese, house pickle and their special vegan sauce.
For those of you who’re hungry for a bit of heat, you can opt for the classic Salt and Chilli Tofu and Scottish Honey Chilli Tofu from Salt and Chilli, as well as Cauliflower or Veg Kotthu and Lankan Tattties Hoppers from Kochchi. You may as well plump for the outrageously more-ish Cheese Melts while you’re there! Staying with Asia, Leith Woks’ Tofu and Blackbean Rice is another popular choice for fans of Chinese fine dining.
You can’t go wrong with a Margherita from east PIZZAS, but the sourdough specialists also have a vegan option made with potatoes, olives, red onion, garlic and vegan cheddar. Or go full-on mushrooms with vegan cheese. You should also check out their sides - olives, salads, almonds and more.
And let’s not forget our Scottish deli Soup & Caboodle, who have a great range of vegan and vegetarian options. Their daily Scotch Broth is vegan (and gluten free), while they also provide a medley of sandwich options alongside baked potatoes, pies, plates and salads. You can even kickstart your day with a hearty bowl of porridge or smashed avocado on toast.
Stack & Still will fill a pancake-sized hole in any appetite, and have a massive range of vegan and vegetarian options, both sweet and savoury. As well as the jackfruit dish, their grilled aubergine and goats cheese stack or pesto eggs stack both have vegan options, while the sweet-toothed among you have various sauces and fruits to add to your stacks, alongside Oreos, Peanut Butter or delicious Biscoff Spread.
But if all you’re after is a quick pastry, then Cairngorm Coffee will fit the bill, with a daily selection of sweet treats, which almost always include some vegan (and GF) options. Speaking of sweet treats, head round to Joelato if you’re craving your gelato fix. Never mind sprinkles, the praise that is heaped upon their vegan chocolate gelato is every bit deserved!
So why not give some if not all of these tasty treats a try this January, though if you can’t make it in over the next few weeks, rest assured we have these vegan and vegetarian options (and more) available throughout the year, not just for Veganuary.
