Bonnie & Wild recognised for its quality and excellence after achieving VisitScotland’s Taste our Best Award
Fresh on the heels of National Geographic hailing Bonnie & Wild one of the best Food Halls in the UK, we’ve just been honoured with the highly sought-after Taste Our Best Award from VisitScotland.
VisitScotland’s Taste our Best quality assurance programme "celebrates businesses who serve up quality food and drink using locally sourced, seasonal local produce". It’s the first time that Scotland’s national tourism body has awarded this prestigious accolade to a Food Hall, food court or street food market … and we couldn’t be more chuffed!
Whether you’re a regular or visiting for the first time, the VisitScotland award recognises Bonnie & Wild’s “commitment to serving quality Scottish produce, prepared with care and delivered with passion”.
The Taste our Best award also recognises the work we’ve done behind the scenes to demonstrate our food and drink provenance, as well as remaining transparent around the small, local suppliers we work with, something we’re also highlighting in our new series of Supplier Stories.
Kate Russell, Bonnie & Wild’s General Manager, said: “Receiving the Taste our Best Award from VisitScotland is a massive thumbs up to the many people who work within Bonnie & Wild, including chefs, counter staff, back of house, front of house, bar staff and management. And it’s testament to the high quality and diverse array of kitchens and retailers we have within our Scottish Marketplace, including Creel Caught, Salt & Chilli Oriental, Chooks, El Perro Negro, east PIZZAS, Kochchi, Joelato, Leith woks, Soup & Caboodle, Stack & Still, Cairngorm Coffee and the IM Bottleshop. Thanks to everyone who worked towards us achieving this highly respected award!”
VisitScotland’s assessor, who visited incognito earlier this month, said: “The overall balance and selection of food on offer [at Bonnie & Wild] is excellent. Dietary requirements are also evident with the availability of vegan and vegetarian options as well as gluten and lactose free dishes.
“The drinks selection is also excellent where the list of drinks are also printed on the table mats for diners’ convenience. Presentation scores are very high thanks to the quality menu boards on each food stall together with up-to-date technology helping diners make choices via mobiles and tablets.”
And with our monthly White Heather Club ceilidhs, pop-up events such as next week’s Oyster and Champagne Bar, plus some of the best food and drink around, we think there’s more reason than ever to visit Bonnie & Wild. And you don’t have to just take our word for it. The likes of VisitScotland and National Geographic agree too.
