Kochchi

Dynamic Duo Suki and Shehan bring iconic Sri Lankan Street Food to Edinburgh with their creative combinations using local produce that caters to vegans, veggies as well as meat lovers.

Winner of the “People’s Choice” at the Scottish Street Food Awards, Kochchi bring a burst of sunshine to Bonnie & Wild with a series of vibrant dishes that pack a flavour-filled punch.

One of three Asian kitchens within Bonnie & Wild at St James Quarter, Kochchi are renowned for their epic Kotthu and Hopper dishes, authentically recreated in our Food Hall as if back in Sri Lanka.

Kotthu is one of Sri Lanka’s most popular Street Food dishes, and is prepared by bashing ingredients with metal plates against a hot plate. You’ll hear this dish being prepared before you see or smell it! It’s the ultimate comfort food, and literally tastes as good as it sounds! And with black pork, chicken, veg and cauliflower options there is something suitable for meat eaters and vegans/vegtarians alike.

Alongside the legendary Kotthu is Kochchi's show-stopping Hoppers dish. These are savoury crepes formed into a bowl made from rice flour and coconut milk with a soft centre and crispy edges. Hoppers can can be filled with sweet or savoury goodness to form breakfast, lunch or dinner, and are suitable for those on a gluten-free diet. If you like the heat, then we recommend the ‘Deville’ dishes. They'll be sure to have your taste buds tingling!

Kochchi also do a selection of seriously tempting sides. Next time you're at their Sri Lankan street food kitchen why not try their Lankan Tatties, Cheese & Onion Melts (made from flatbread and soaked in a succulent mango sauce), or their Godamba Roti!

“Fabulous food! Thank you for the divine flavours, unique textures and very satisfying meal in Edinburgh, one summer evening!”
