Bonnie & Wild's Christmas Gift Guide

Bonnie & Wild might be in the heart of Scotland’s best retail destination and surrounded by shops and stores, but don’t overlook our Food Hall as a shopping destination in its own right!

Twelve Christmas Gift ideas from Bonnie & Wild

Jimmy Lee has recently launched his debut cookbook Jimmy's Smoking Wok, and it looks delicious! Containing dozens of tasty stir fry recipes, tips and advice, it also gives a bit of background about the Salt & Chill and Leith Woks chef himself.

Gary Maclean has three cracking cookbooks for you to choose from. Great gifts for fans of Scottish fare, his latest book, Scottish Celebrations, takes you on a culinary journey from Burns Night to Hogmanay.

With four cookbooks between two Bonnie & Wild chefs, perhaps it’s time for Bonnie & Wild to do a cookbook, too. Watch this space!!

It’s whisky galore at Rarity, who’ve got daily tastings on throughout December. As well as whisky they stock a superb range of Scottish craft gins, vodkas, rums, tequila, and even a few AF options. A top choice if you’re looking for something a bit different and exclusive such as their Ardnamurchan Sherry Cask Release, with flavours of Christmas fruit cake, raisins and marmalade. If budget really isn't an issue, they do have a bottle of GlenAllachie 35 year old, complete with lavish hand-carved oak box!

illy Caffe have you covered for everything coffee and tea related. Their Pekoe Tea Caddy comes with various flavours of looseleaf tea, complemented perfectly by their Zero Japan Teapot. On the coffee front, they've tins of their world renowned illy Coffee, but if you're wanting to go all-out, they're also have in stock a range of coffee machines, including the Iperespresso Coffee Machine and the amazing Francis & Francis coffee machine, one of the best in the business.

Foodwise, we’ve got a menu packed with tasty options, though maybe not all of them are fit for Santa’s Stocking.

If it’s pancakes you’re after, then Stack & Still do the full range of pancake mixes, complete with various sauces. Nice treat for Boxing Day perhaps, plus a good gluten-free option.

Fancy some sweet and savoury stocking fillers of handy wee gifts? Soup & Caboodle can fill a hamper’s worth of delicious deli products. They’ve cheeses, cured meats, relishes, jams, shortbread and all manner of biscuits. Combine with a bottle of whisky from Rarity for the ultimate Christmas hamper.

If you’ve got the turkey (or seitan!) sorted, and are wondering what to serve with your Christmas pudding, then consider ordering a large tub of gelato (or sorbet) from Joelato.

As everyone knows, teens are notoriously difficult to buy for. Given how popular Chulo’s are with our younger guests, we recommend a box of their outrageous Stuffed Cookies!

Venturing beyond the kitchens and retailers, check out the photographer Damian Shields, whose art features on our walls. Damian’s one of the country’s best landscape photographers and his 2025 calendar would make a great gift for fans of photography.

Love a bit of tartan? Have a gander at the tartan goodies available from our friends at Scotland Shop (their Edinburgh shop is by Haymarket). Combine with a ticket to our Boxing Day White Heather Club Ceilidh for the perfect opportunity to show off any new tartanwear!

And not to be left out, Bonnie & Wild also offers a few gift options for you. We’ve various bits of merch, including hoodies and brollies, and we can also do gift vouchers that can be used at any of our kitchens, retailers or bars. Pick up at the Food Hall.
