From intimate dinners to extravagant celebrations, our flexible events space comprises three beautiful rooms that can be hired individually or combined to make an incredible venue for up to 100 guests.

With panoramic views over St James Square, our events space comprises our private Tryst bar, private dining room and our beautiful show kitchen, with events ranging from private dinners for up to 16 guests to large celebrations for 100! We offer an extensive, unrivalled events buffet menu, as well as set menus from our Creel Caught and Leith Woks kitchens.

  • Private Dining Room | 16 guests seated (at a squeeze we can do 18 or very maximum, 20)
  • The Tryst Bar | 30 guests, with a mix of soft seating & standing
  • The Tryst Bar & Show Kitchen | Utilising our show kitchen this option can accommodate up to 50 guests, with a mix of seating & some standing  
  • Full Events Space | Comprising The Tryst Bar, Show Kitchen and Private Dining Room, this option can accommodate up to 100 guests, with a mix of seating & standing.

From Parties to Presentations, Cocktail Classes to Lectures  

With one of the best events spaces in Edinburgh’s city centre, we offer guests a flexible and beautiful space that can cater for a wide variety of special occasions. Here are just a few of the options:

  • Private Dinners | Take over the private dining room and choose from either our Creel Caught or Leith Wok set menus. From £32 per person. Alternatively organise a small buffet and canapes from our buffet menu. Prefer to dine from the marketplace direct? That's fine too.
  • Drinks Receptions | Invite up to 100 guests to take over the events space, with drinks on arrival, plus beautiful canapés and buffet options.     
  • Presentations & Lectures | Using the full space we can also create a lecture-style layout for about 40 guests sitting.
  • Weddings | Engagement parties, pre-wedding dinners, receptions and even the main ceremony, our beautiful events space lends itself perfectly to host your wedding celebrations.   
  • Cocktail Masterclasses | Let our mixologists wow you as they shake and stir through three beautiful cocktails with everyone getting the chance to mix it up behind the bar. From £35 per person. Low and no-alcohol options available.
  • Meetings and Networking | Our private dining room can double up as a boardroom for 16 attendees, while our events space as a whole makes for a brilliant area for corporate events. We can provide A1 easels, microphone and access to large screens for presentations.
  • Brand Launches | One of our specialities, we love working with brands looking for something special to showcase their business or celebrate a product launch, and will work with you to curate a carefully tailored event that will help to elevate your organisation.  

Costs

Our room hire costs start from £100 for non-peak bookings, with an additional £300 deposit for use of our Tryst Bar (from £500 for exclusive use of our full space). Please note that your deposit can be redeemed against your drinks bill only – please see our T&Cs page for more details. 

How to Book

Contact the Events team using the contact form with details of your event, including you preferred date(s), time, numbers of guests, food and drink preferences and any other additional information you can think of! If your date is available and you'd like to proceed with your booking we'll hold your reservation for three days and send you a payment link for the hire fee (non-refundable) and deposit if you're also hiring the Tryst bar/full space. 

Food & Drink Pre-Orders 

As well as our set menus, we can offer an extensive buffet menu from across all our kitchens, including Creel Caught, Salt & Chilli Oriental, Chooks, El Perro Negro, east PIZZAS, Kochchi, Joelato, Leith Woks, Soup & Caboodle, Stack & Still, Chulo's and illy Caffe. You can download the menu or look at an online version. Once you're booking is live, we'll send you an online order form so you can easily see the various options available to you. Please note that we require all food pre-orders at least seven days in advance, and all payments should be made prior to or on the day of your event. 

For drink pre-orders we'll help you curate a tailored drinks packages that's perfect for you and your guest, whether it's Prosecco on arrival, wine, or bespoke cocktails.

A Level of Excellence  

Alongside a wide range of private functions, we've also hosted VIP launches for the likes of the Bowmore Distillery, Harris Distillery, and Raasay Distillery, as well as book launches, film nights, talks, presentations and of course our Chef's Table experiences and Battle of the Chefs

And as well as championing Scotland's food and drink we've also held events championing the country's sporting and creative industries. We've hosted "In Conversation" events with former Scotland Captain Greig Laidlaw and Caroline Blair, and are The Famous Grouse's hospitality partner for the Six Nations tournament. We've also work closely with St James Quarter and city partners during Edinburgh STYLE, hosting fashion shows with Siobhan Mackenzie and Holly Campbell and model scouting shows with Colours Agency. We even rebranded ourselves Bonnie & Style!

Planning a wedding?

We can also host weddings, as well as intimate pre-wedding dinners, engagement parties and big wedding receptions. We can provide a beautiful, well-staffed bar, our full events space, food packages, music and entertainment. Book your Cocktail Masterclass with us

For groups of eight to 24 guests, we can provide an entertaining and interactive Cocktail Masterclass for you, with our expert mixologists shaking and stirring three beautiful cocktails. You'll get behind the bar and find out what it takes to make a trio of classic tipples chosen off our delicious cocktail menu. £35 per person (mocktails £25pp). 

Enjoy a Chef's Table Experience

For groups of 16 guests, we can offer unique dining experiences with our chef's preparing a delicious set menu, with full wine pairings, all in our beautiful private dining room. A completely unique culinary experience! Price on enquiry.

Space was incredible and worked perfectly, thank you for setting up the extra bar tables/stools for our numbers. Food was incredible. Tech worked well and Christine was super helpful with all my Qs in the lead up. This is such amazing value for money compared to other venues that don't even nearly compare to the atmosphere and setup you have to offer, We struggled with power outlets, but was amazing you could provide adapters. Will be recommending this venue to other teams in our company.
