The Golden Ratio: Bowmore and Aston Martin launch latest whisky at Bonnie & Wild

Beautiful cars, exquisite food, exceptional whisky and brilliant company made for a fantastic night when Bowmore and Aston Martin once again came to Bonnie & Wild to launch the fourth and final release in their series of collaborative whiskies.

This four-year project, masterminded by Bowmore's master blender Ron Welsh and Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman, has seen the creation of a series of highly soughtafter premium whiskies inspired by these two high-profile brands.

At their heart, Ron revealed, these whiskies were inspired by the Golden Ratio, the artistic and design principle that underpins natural beauty and can be found throughout art, architecture, design … and now whisky.

The glamorous launch, replete with beautiful canapes served up from Creel Caught, was the fourth year Bowmore and Aston Martin held their high profile launch at Bonnie & Wild. As well as a bar full of stunning whiskies, outside Aston Martin had parked up a couple of their incredible performance cars outside St James Quarter.

Organised by Edrington in collaboration with our Rarity bottle shop, guests included keen whisky collectors and connoisseurs, and familiar faces and friends from across the sector.

As Ron took the floor, everyone was treated to a very special tasting courtesy of the master blender. The world-renowned whisky expert took guests through a sensory journey comprising all four of the whiskies, kicking off with the very first 2021 release before concluding with the latest expression.

Bringing together whiskies matured in Tawny Port American oak cask and Oloroso sherry butts, this single malt is a classic Bowmore, with nutty sweetness on the nose opening to a rich, spicy taste with intensity at every stage

The Bowmore Aston Martin Masters’ Selection 21yo is available from the Rarity bottle shop at Bonnie & Wild, while stocks last, priced at £425.

Official Tasting Notes:

Taste: Roasted chestnuts, honey sweet with rich salted toffee, grilled Seville orange zest, and dry thyme, with sultanas, oak spices, velvety milk chocolate, and peat smoke.

Finish: The finish starts with a velvety mouthcoating and mouthwarming, with a long drying finish of light medicinal and peat smoke notes.
