'Electric' launch of our White Heather Ceilidh Club!

A big thank you to everyone who made the launch of our White Heather Ceilidh Club such a success. Now we're rolling out our evening of Scottish Highland dancing, putting on the fabulous event every month!

More than 250 excited dancers whirled and twirled the evening away last week at the launch of our White Heather Ceilidh Club!

Keep your diary free as we're now making it a monthly extravaganza, with Charlie Kirkpatrick and his band next returning to Bonnie & Wild for an evening of traditional Scottish dancing on Thursday September 29th.

We absolutely loved having so many guests coming down to Bonnie & Wild for an evening of Scottish dancing, music, food & drink! With more than 100 dancers dancing at any one time, bandleader Charlie Kirkpatrick said it was one of the busiest and best ceilidhs he’d played at in recent years.

"What a brilliant night. The atmosphere was electric, and all the dancers were fantastic and up for it from the get-go. Right from the very first tune, everyone was dancing, and it stayed like that for the rest of the night. It was great to see so much tartan, too. It all reminded me of the legendary Riverside nights in Glasgow we used to play. Perhaps the White Heather Ceilidh Club at Bonnie & Wild will become as big an institution as those nights. Let’s hope so!"

Although free, the 250 tickets for last week's ceilidh launch, held as part of the Edinburgh Fringe, were allocated well in advance. Tickets for the next event will be made available very soon! Sign up to our newsletter to be among the first to get access to these tickets!

Inspired by the White Heather Club, the iconic BBC TV show of the 1960s, our ceilidh club will run every month and see greater collaborations among many of the concessions within our Food Hall as well as other local businesses.

"Last night was a momentous success. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Everyone was dancing, cheering and laughing. It was such a buzz. It was friendly and welcoming, and everything a good ceilidh should be. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

“A massive thank you to Charlie Kirkpatrick and his band, and of course to the hundreds of guests and passers-by who took part and made the night such a success. And a big thank you too to all Bonnie & Wild and St James Quarter staff who helped to ensure everything ran smoothly.”
