Dry January? Try these alcohol-free tipples

If one of your New Year’s Resolutions was to drink less alcohol (alongside do more exercise, eat healthier, read more books, etc, etc), then perhaps you’re one of the many thousands of people who’ve kickstarted their 2024 with Dry January.

Within our Scottish Food Hall we have a superb selection of mocktails, soft options and low-alcohol beers for those of you thirsty for a non-alcoholic beverage.

Our bars offer you some of the tastiest mocktails in town and created by our talented mixologists at our Hauf & Howff bar. We’re big fans of the Garden Soda and Earthly Glow, both made using the locally made Feragaia alcohol-free spirit. The Garden Soda uses our very own Bonnie & Wild garden herb syrup, citrus juice mix, soda and of course Feragaia, garnished with fresh cucumber; while Earthly Glow is a nourishing mix of Feragaia, orange syrup, ginger syrup, lime juice and soda.

Another great option is a Berry Smash, made with cranberry juice, strawberry and mint syrup, lime juice, fresh berries and lemonade. Or if you love your bubbly, how about our Winter Sparkler, made with non-alcoholic Prosecco, nutmeg and honey syrup, and orange juice?

A classic Virgin Mary completes our mocktail list (though we also have regular specials!). Spicy and savoury with a tomato base, you won’t miss the alcohol in this 0% alternative.

You’re also spoiled for soft drinks, with a full range of options from Scottish soft drink producers Bon Accord and Rapscallion. From Bon Accord’s Ginger Beer and their mega-popular Rhubarb Soda to Rapscallion’s Blueberry and Cranachan juices, these softs are all locally sourced and delicious. Needing a sweet sugar fix? We also have Irn-Bru, too!

Drouth for a beer? We recommend Jump Ship’s Yardarm Lager (0.5% abv). Crisp and refreshing, this lager is brewed with Citra and Styrian Bobek hops for a full-flavoured finish. Or why not try Jump Ship’s JackStaff IPA, the Edinburgh brewery’s non-alcohol IPA that’s brewed with Mosaic and Centennial hops for a heady mix of citrus, pine and peach.

You can order any of these drinks direct from the bar, or via your phone by scanning the QR on every table within our Food Hall.

And if you fancy a bottle of Feragaia to take home, you can pick up this intriguing spirit from the Rarity Bottle Shop just at our front door. The bottle shop also recommends the Talanmore, another great local brand.
