Introducing Kate Russell, Bonnie & Wild's new General Manager who's now leading recruitment drive for our Scottish Marketplace
We are delighted to welcome Kate Russell, Bonnie & Wild's new General Manager, to the team!
Kate, who took up the role of Bonnie & Wild’s General Manager on Monday, brings with her a wealth of industry experience and will play a critical role as we move towards opening our Scottish Marketplace this summer!
Kate's priority is to now build a highly trained team for our beautiful Food Hall, who, like Kate and everyone involved in the project, will have to be passionate about promoting Scottish food and drink!
Our Scottish Marketplace is due to open on June 24th alongside much of the St James Quarter. Within our Food Hall we will host three bars, eight food stalls and four speciality retailers, and open-plan seating for about 400 people!
Kate comes to Bonnie & Wild from the multi-award-winning Edinburgh restaurant group Loudons. She's now in the process of interviewing for Assistant Manager roles, with a Sales and Events Manager to follow. Then she'll begin the vital task of recruiting front of house and service staff. Kate said:
“One of my main objectives is to ensure staff share Bonnie & Wild’s passion for Scottish food and drink. We want our staff to be the welcoming face of Bonnie & Wild’s Scottish Marketplace, but also to champion Scotland’s wider food and drink industry.”
Before Loudons, Kate worked for another Edinburgh institution, the family-run S. Luca, famed for their ice-cream! She added:
“There’s nothing like Bonnie & Wild in Scotland. We will have a high quality food offering from multiple providers, including some very well known names such as Masterchef winner Gary MacLean. Within this amazing Food Hall setting, guests will be spoilt for choice!”
Last week we shared on our Social channels additional details of our Scottish Marketplace - a CGI by designers Duncalf of our flexible events space, complete with private dining area, demonstration kitchen and intimate Tryst bar. It followed news of our partnership with the Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year awards, and our own contest for the Bonnie & Wild prize!
